Functions & Roles of Working Groups
The Working Group for Jurisdiction-Based Palm Oil Certification in Seruyan Regency consists of representatives from the Seruyan Regency Government, Plantation Companies, Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs), Non-Plantation Companies, and the Community. The tasks of the Jurisdiction-Based Palm Oil Certification Working Group in Seruyan Regency are as follows:

1. Oversee the jurisdiction certification targets that encompass at least five aspects, namely:

- Establishment of a jurisdiction platform towards sustainability;
- Protection of areas with high conservation values;
- Reduction of deforestation and protection of high carbon stock areas;
- Prevention of social conflicts in commodity production; and
- Empowerment of farmers, indigenous communities, local communities, and infrastructure.

2. Monitoring the implementation of the work plan and identifying solutions to address and overcome challenges encountered during the execution of the work plan

3. Proposing swift and appropriate regional policies, programs, and activities to reduce the common risks faced by palm oil farmers and companies, including deforestation, social conflicts, greenhouse gas emissions, and the destruction of areas with high carbon values.
